Rob has sown a row of mixed salad leaf directly into a small bed down on plot 8 and today I have sown 24 seeds of a European Butterhead lettuce in modules at home. I haven’t had much luck starting lettuce this way before but have tried a cheap propagator tray with a plastic lid but stood it outside as before I have tried in the house and I think it may have been too warm for lettuce seed to germinate.
