Here is Libbie with the cucumber she sowed last Wednesday.

Look what Libbie grew from just a little seed.

Sean and Deb couldn’t make Saturday so they came to dinner on Sunday with Jem. They always come loaded with presents and this time I got loads of flowers, a book to read. a sensitive plant, and a lovely chocolate cake chosen by Jemima. So all in all we had a busy but happy weekend.

Rob and I popped to the allotment at dinner time today to take the poo buckets etc and came home with a bag of beans the last of the tomatoes and the first of our new cauliflowers out of the tunnel on plot 8.

Last evening we went to the allotment to find that work had begun on the parking area which is being tarmaced by the look of it.

I planted the tomatoes in the left hand bed of the lean to. Tomato Lemon Tree, Black Cherry, 2 Alicante and 2 Moneymaker. Over on the left hand bed the Cucumber Carmen is still looking good so fingers crossed. We will have to finish off the support structure in there soon.

We prepared the left hand bed in the new tunnel for the swede plants. The cabbages and broccolli plants in there look strong and healthy so we gave them a good watering.

Finally we measured out the area for the new tunnel on plot 8 and we haven’t even finished the first one yet.

It is Libbie’s third birthday so we went to take her presents over. She is so beautiful and really bright. We are so proud of her.

When we came home we got changed and spent an hour at the plots. Rob planted two rows of potato Rocket on plot 18 and I planted some Dhalia corms Graceful Mix and a root of Gypsophilia in the flower bed on plot 8.

I collected a good sized bag of sprouts to bring home and the rest of the time was spent pulling up plants past their best and tidying beds ready for new planting.

Apart from tidying up and laying compost on the empty beds there is not much to report from the plot so I thought a picture of our grandaughter Libbie enjoying the Autumn leaves would brighten up the weblog.
